Lake Gaston (NC, VA)
B.Dennis reported catching Spotted Bass using the Wacky Rigs technique and St. Croix Victory Spinning Rods on Lake Gaston. Additional comments from this report: "Found many Spotted Bass on the main lake docks. Docks in the pockets did not produce like main lake docks. Quite a bit of recreational boat traffic made this difficult in the PM."
Daiwa Tatula XT Spinning Rods

Reported by
Aaron Stross
Harry S Truman Reservoir (MO)
Aaron Stross reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Wacky Rigs technique and Daiwa Tatula XT Spinning Rods on Harry S Truman Reservoir. Additional comments from this report: "It was a very slow day fishing flooded willows and bushes, but the wacky rig still got bit. Once the sun was up skipping as far into the shade as possible was key. The Owner weedless hook was critical to not getting hung up deep in the cover."

Reported by
Simi
Bass Lake (59) (WI)
Simi reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Wacky Rigs technique and Daiwa Tatula XT Spinning Rods on Bass Lake (59). Additional comments from this report: "The smaller males have started to pull into the shallows in the smaller bays where the water has warmed up to almost 50 degrees. They was 100’s of bass and Bluegill under the float vegetation. Hit the pockets with a wacky worm in 6 inches to 4 feet of water. Bigger fish will be pulling up soon when that warm breaks 55 degrees. "

Sakatah Lake (MN)
Some bass were starting to move in to spawn. I didn't notice any beds though. Wacky rigs worked ok. Also got a few on a chatterbait.
Shimano Expride B Spinning Rods
$329.99 – $349.99
Reported by
Phelptwan
Fish Lake (MI) (MI)
Water temp was just under 80 when we hit the water and then we got slammed with some hard rain, not much wind. Cooled the water down a bit at the surface and made for an interesting bite. All but one of our keepers were on wacky rigs. The biggest was on a rat-l-trap at the end of the night. Caught a couple on frogs, swim baits and a BFS popper. I bent out a hook on a big one (damaged the hook earlier extracting it from a dog fish and should have replaced it). We ended up with just under 8lbs w/ 4 fish. 1st-3rd were all right under 9lbs.

The Chub King
Shadow Lake (NJ)
The Chub King reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Wacky Rigs technique and Shimano Expride B Spinning Rods on Shadow Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Bass Cant Resist the Wacky Rigged Senko. I have fished this lake for over 20 years now and you have to be prepared to get snagged here and there and deliver some pinpoint casts if you want to have consistent success. Was able to squeeze out a limit skipping a senko into downed trees and under overhanging trees. The lake has some big fish but I didn't find any. The water was still cold in the end of March at around 49 degrees. The expride and senko was magic though. Get into that cover and let it marinate fishing real slow has always worked well here the last few years."

GritJ
Wharton Brook State Park (CT)
GritJ reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Wacky Rigs technique and Shimano Expride B Spinning Rods on Wharton Brook State Park. Additional comments from this report: "Went to Wharton Brook mid-day when the sun was high but the fish were still very active. Lots of bluegill around and the bass were jumping everywhere. The water is very shallow and clear so you can see a lot of the structure in the water where the bass like to hang out. I started out with Texas Rigged 3" Fat Senkos in Black and Green Pumpkin casting out to those areas with the structure and letting it sink. If I didn't get a bite on the initial fall down I would reel in the senko until it was above the next area of structure and let it sink again. Spot fishing was also very good so if I saw a fish jump out of the water I would cast to it and usually it would bite. I also tried Wacky Rigged 4" Senkos which caught me the most fish. I ended up with 7 bass in about 2.5 hours."
