OutdoorsWithKai
Lake Minnetonka (MN)
OutdoorsWithKai reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Jerkbaits technique and Shimano Expride B Casting Rods on Lake Minnetonka. Additional comments from this report: "As the weather continues to cool down, the fish stays feeding. Most of my fish came off ripping the jerkbait out of patches of weeds in 8-12FOW and just waiting a second or two before twitching it had them react to it. Having a livescope helped me out as well because I can see them coming out of the weed patches chasing my jerkbait as it rips out of the weeds. Nothing too fancy, but having the right rod (mentioned) helped a ton when fishing a jerkbait. "

Eric Geesaman
Lake Elmo (MN)
Eric Geesaman reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Jerkbaits technique and Megabass Levante Casting Rods on Lake Elmo. Additional comments from this report: "While live suckers are whacking the snot out of them, a hard hitting, rolling jerkbait can still trigger strikes. Throwing parallel to submerged grass and really snapping the rod caused the most success. Dumped two that hit like freight trains and landed this dude. "

Simi
Lake Koronis (MN)
Simi reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Hard Jerkbaits technique and Megabass Levante Casting Rods on Lake Koronis. Additional comments from this report: "Find the large flats. This is where the Smallmouth spawn in about 6' to 8'. Throwing the jerkbait from a long distance produced large bites all day long. Some really big smallmouth bass in the lake. Clean up with Ned Rig and Dropshot."

Ben Nelson
Beltrami Lake (MN)
Ben Nelson reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Hard Jerkbaits technique and Megabass Levante Casting Rods on Beltrami Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Smallies are moving up from their deep wintering holes to the shallows to spawn. Look for points, large boulders, or other “stopping points” and fish them thoroughly with moving baits - Jerkbaits have worked best."

larrymarketreels reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Hard Jerkbaits technique and Shimano Expride B Casting Rods on Lake of the Isles. Additional comments from this report: "Caught about 8 of them on the Rerange 110 at the very tip of a point in about 14’ that immediately dropped into deeper water. Longer pauses between rod twitches were the key. Working the jerkbait too erratically did not seem to get them to react. Slow-playing the lure got me most of my bites today. "
