PunchFishing
Sissabagama Lake (WI)
PunchFishing reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and G. Loomis NRX+ Casting Rods on Sissabagama Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Basically anywhere on the lake that had a visible Hazard marker had bass nearby. Smallies could be caught on rocks shallow down to 20 feet. You just needed to find the chunk rock that was away from the grass. Picking off individual fish from bigger rocks with the Ned TRD also worked well using forward facing sonar. "

Ryan Winstead
Lake Camelot (IL)
Ryan Winstead reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and G. Loomis NRX+ Casting Rods on Lake Camelot. Additional comments from this report: "Slow dragging jig on points, pop it off bottom every so often. Targeting 10’-16’, the depth range where all the bait is marking on the Helix."
St. Croix Victory Casting Rods
$200.00 – $275.00
Reported by
Ean Unverzagt
Lac Courte Oreilles (WI)
Ean Unverzagt reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and St. Croix Victory Casting Rods on Lac Courte Oreilles. Additional comments from this report: "Had a cold front come through which made smallmouth pretty finicky. Obvious humps from 14'-20' produced bigger fish but I could only get 1 or 2 bites at each spot. Jerkbaits on points also caught smaller fish."

MDOoutdoors
Lake Clinton (IL)
MDOoutdoors reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and St. Croix Victory Casting Rods on Lake Clinton. Additional comments from this report: "We found some big ones dragging a black and blue jig across rocky points with weeds in about 80 degree water temp. The biggest we caught was 6.2 lbs! The chigger craw is hands down the most versatile craw style jig trailer on the market."
Reported by
Trent Ellis
Stockton Lake
Trent Ellis reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and St. Croix Victory Casting Rods on Stockton Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Still heavily fishing brush piles. Fish as many as you can from 18-30 feet deep. Bites are few and far between right now as the fall transition looms near. Drag a football jig or something similar along the bottom and soak it right next to the pile. "
Daiwa Tatula Elite Casting Rods
$189.99
Reported by
Trevor Lo
Mille Lacs Lake (MN)
Trevor Lo reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and Daiwa Tatula Elite Casting Rods on Mille Lacs Lake. Additional comments from this report: "A lot of smallmouth are still in the pre-spawn stage but are moving towards their spawn areas. I was able to catch very good quality fish dragging a football jig around rock piles that had schools of bait nearby. The fish would be spitting up both crawdads and perch as you fought them. Lots of cruising fish in the shallows, but most of my fish were caught in 8-10 feet of water."

Punk Rock Mike
Manson Lake (WI)
Punk Rock Mike reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and Daiwa Tatula Elite Casting Rods on Manson Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Caught probably 60+ fish in about 5 hours. Fishing the deepest solid weedlines with borders and rocks mixed in. Casting the jig just outside the weedline or dragging it up into the weedline seemed to be my best bites. Once they stopped hitting the jig I would goto the drop shot to pick up a few more then move to the next spot. Nothing really big but super fun bite and a mix of smallies and largies in the same spot. "

Brandon Plumski
Lake Ida (9) (MN)
Brandon Plumski reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and Daiwa Tatula Elite Casting Rods on Lake Ida (9). Additional comments from this report: "Bass are abundant amongst weed lines. Having a braided line with fluoro leader was crucial to get the bass out once dug in. Looking for your transition points from hard bottom to cover was key. Also finding off shore structure resulted in some bigger bass 4+lbers."

Mike reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Football Jigs technique and G. Loomis NRX+ Casting Rods on Waverly Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Look for outside weed edges in about 8’ - 9’ of water that are close to deeper water. Had to fish very slow. Pop and drag jig through the weeds. Fish hit the jig once you popped out of weed edge. "
