Reported by
Samuel Climer
Alvarado Lake (TX)
Samuel Climer reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Soft Body Swimbaits (Large) technique and Dobyns Rods Fury Casting Rods on Alvarado Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Okay guys a little crash course for big swimbaits. Water temps are 55 and climbing through the day with slightly stained water. About 4” of visibility. I stuck with the magdraft for most of the day and focused on the main lake areas what has little contour. Most of the lake is pretty barren with minimal amounts of channels or ditches. The bass were pushing bait up to the surface and I used my forward facing sonar to pin point them and make the cast on their heads. You don’t have to absolutely rip their heads off with the magdraft so a steady sweep of the rod will do the trick! Good luck!"

Paul Mroczenski
Tug Lake (WI)
Paul Mroczenski reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Soft Body Swimbaits (Large) technique and Dobyns Rods Fury Casting Rods on Tug Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Most fish were caught on a weightless Texas rigged Big EZ fished around wind-blown lily pads and other structure. If they missed the Big EZ a small weightless fluke was a good cleanup bait. Also caught a big one flipping a weightless tube under a dock. "

STEVE OUELLETTE
Cherokee Lake (TN)
STEVE OUELLETTE reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Soft Body Swimbaits (Large) technique and St. Croix Victory Casting Rods on Cherokee Lake . Additional comments from this report: "Fished the Bassmaster Open as a co-angler. Worked parallel to bluff walls alternating between a Mag draft, spinnerbait with a Pearl Largo shad trailer, and Strike King Hybrid Hunter. Used the Chartreuse marker to lightly shade the center of the largo shad to give it a little bling. Had a 3 fish limit within an hour and continued to cull up by ounces for the next 2 hours. Had 2, 3 to 4 lbs class Smallmouth jump off on the magdraft on a long cast due to not paying attention to my hooks and becoming dull. My biggest fish of the day caught came off the Hybrid Hunter working it off the bluffs over 15 to 20 feet of water working it fast with a stop and go retrieve. The Smallmouth would hit it hard right at the pause. Day 2 was a bust as there was no wind and the areas, we worked I just couldn't get more then 3 bites all day. "

Ben Miller reported catching Spotted Bass using the Soft Body Swimbaits (Large) technique and Shimano Expride B Casting Rods on Lake Lanier. Additional comments from this report: "Water temps in the low 60’s and the lower end of the lake had clear water. Bite was slow in the morning but heated up in the afternoon. Fish were positioned in the shade of shallow docks and were crushing a 6” magdraft. Best 5 weighed 18-20 lbs. "
