Additional comments from this report: "Caught some nice bass including a 4.5lb largemouth, a few smallies were mixed in as well. Step ledges with rip rap, Being patient and working the bait back slow was the only way to get them too bite. With the Water going up fast, fish seem to be slightly less active. Bites were very light so having a good sharp hook made the difference tonight"

Reported by
Mark Ripp

Pool 10 Mississippi River (WI)

Mark Ripp reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Pitch/Flip) technique and St. Croix Victory Casting Rods on Pool 10 Mississippi River. Additional comments from this report: "The water was fairly high so we targeted hard edge banks with at least 3’ of water and some current. It seemed like most of the better bites came off of larger stumps and vertical targets more so that actual laydowns. Most of the fish came on a Bojangles Cook craw which is not available currently on Omnia. We also threw a fighting frog for a few bites. The Shimano Mastiff performed well again today and it really shines in flipping situations. "

Switched to a Texas rig vile bug(got through the grass a lot better too!) started getting good bites and located the fish. Water was dirty so a junebug/black blue was the best color option, just fished slow picked apart the vegetation! "
