I’m really starting to like these dice baits for river smallmouth. LINE I highly recommend spinning tackle with braid to leader. I like the high visibility braid so you can see the bite on slack line. BAIT Really high quality materials. The natural craw color stands out just right in stained river water. It doesn’t weigh much and the skirt catches air so you will need a long med light rod for casting distance. HOOK love the screw lock as it helps me not lose the bait. These dice baits are pricey. I really like the 1/28 oz weight b/c it doesn’t sink like a rock. I was walking the banks and targeting large rocks near shallow water and eddy’s. Cast it out let it sink, a few twitches and rod raises and repeat. This smallmouth darted out of the rocks and swiped at it. This happened 3 times and on the 3rd he finally got it. The hook was super sharp and he hooked himself. Definitely was not expecting this. I’m gonna be adding this bait and hook combo into my permanent rotation for my river arsenal.

Don’t fall asleep on a Colorado blade in the summer! It is so much fun to throw especially on a breezy day! I casted near some grass patches on the bottom. Water depth was less than seven feet and I cranked this through middle of the water column. I did that for several casts and no strikes. Next cast on the retrieve, I burned it, then stopped then burned again and then felt the fish just crush it. The Berkley Power Stinger is my top choice for a trailer and it is awesome. The scent, it looks good, and it’s durable.

I fished the river channel and started casting the outer edge with a Zoom Horny Toad to either get bites or show me where the fish were. Then switched to a punching rig to catch bass where the blowups happened. Slow and steady was the key

Caught fishing on the flats in 8-15 FoW. Snapping a jig through grass and a neko rig worked best. Picked a few up on a main lake point using a shakeyhead but not much size on those fish. Finished the day flipping docks with the jig again and picked up a few of my better fish. Biggest was 3.56. Up here on vacation and haven’t quite figured out where the big ones are. Catching a ton of fish in the 12-15 inch range, but only a handful north of 3 pounds.

It was humid and hot but we found some bass in about 13ft of water. We had a ton of fun catching bass on swim jigs and weighted texas rigs.

Went out early to try my luck with a hollow body frog, Strike King popping perch in green pumpkin, had a few blow ups but no hook ups. I decided to through Strike King Rage Swimmer on a Dirty Jig underspin, and they were tearing it up. I ended up paralleling the grass line and ended up catching about 15 fish in one spot in the cove. It was a big time for a couple hours.

Boat was in 12-15' of water. We mainly hit rip rap banks, some with wood. The most quality came from the areas were the rocks came out farther into the water. Slow fishing a stupid tube by far produced the best quality, a jig and wacky did get some to. We did lighten up the heads to 1/8oz as the current slowed. When the current was gone the fish seemed to also be gone. Points were not great but fish were there.

They wanted the ToadZ burning across the surface this morning. I got one bass that was over 4lbs and three that were over 3lbs. They just crushed it. If you have water temp above 70, give burning a toad a try. I also got a few pike and I think missed a Bowfin
