Additional comments from this report: "Early Crappie fishing is a great time to catch a few fish, right after the ice goes off the fish are normally deep. Use your electronics to locate schools. Look outside the shallow bays and channels on the first and second break. When you find them spot lock over them and vertical jig them watching your jig on your electronics and let the fun begin. Tie a short piece of mono about 3 feet to the jigging rap then to a small barrel swivel and to the braid. Good Luck"

Additional comments from this report: "Perch bite was very light on that day. The sensitivity in the St. Croix PFS70LXF was key in detecting the bite or subtle change in feel of the bait. The perch were keying in on rock piles adjacent to the deepest break line before the mud basin. Used baits on a tandem hand tied double spreader type rig with a heavier main weight on the bottom of the rig being a 3/8 oz bell sinker."

Use your electronics to stay above the school and keep bouncing the jig a foot or two off the bottom.You can tie the mono to the braid and use a snap swivel the attach the jig to your line or use a short piece of mono about 3 feet long to attach to the braid to the mono and then tie to the jig Good luck!"
