Kail’s Fishing Reports
Kabetogama Lake (MN)
Kail’s Fishing Reports reported catching Walleye using the Vertical Jigging Deep (20'+) technique and Berkley Trilene XT on Kabetogama Lake. Additional comments from this report: "The Fall Bite is ON! As the water cools and things transition to winter the bite just keeps getting better. Use a lake map or your electronics to locate mid lake humps and scan them with your Garmin Live to locate fish if you have one or use your regular electronics. Throw past the fish and work your bait to them. You may have to use a few different jigging techniques to get the Eyes to bite. I like braid as a mainline and use a swivel between the braid and the mono and tie direct to the Jigging Rap. Make sure to check your hooks to make sure they are sharp and the rocks take a tole on them. Good Luck!"
PowerPro Spectra Braid
$18.50 – $22.50
Reported by
Sam Karr
Lake of the Woods (US) (MN)
Sam Karr reported catching Walleye using the Vertical Jigging Deep (20'+) technique and PowerPro Spectra Braid on Lake of the Woods (US). Additional comments from this report: "Jigging at the outlet of the rainy river in about 18-24ft of water, using the current to bounce the jig off the bottom"

RJC
Detroit River
RJC reported catching Walleye using the Vertical Jigging Deep (20'+) technique and PowerPro Spectra Braid on Detroit River. Additional comments from this report: "Fishing is still hit or miss on the river. Spent most of the day around the bell isle bridge had 5 bites and landed 2 fish. Water is still around the 36-38 degree with a slight stain. They were smacking the hair jig just couldn’t seem to keep them pinned. Darker fluke on a dark 1oz jig head also seem to work.. marked a ton of fish mid to upper river just not aggressive yet.. also ran some spot on the Canadian side water was 38-39 but muddy had a few short strikes but that was about it."

Kail’s Fishing Reports reported catching Crappie using the Vertical Jigging Deep (20'+) technique and Berkley Fireline - EOL on Long Lake (MN). Additional comments from this report: "Use your electronics to locate the fish, they will look like a Christmas Tree on your normal 2D sonar. Look over basin areas of the lake and find soft bottom areas in about 30' of water. I like to tie my mono to the braid giving about 5' of mono and putting the snap swivel on the bait but you can use a barrel swivel to jion the mono to the braid. Jig above them slowly and when you feel them bite give a second before you set the hook. Good Luck"
