Wheeler Branch Reservoir (TX)
Wheeler Branch Reservoir is a small, deep, clear reservoir and a small boat and kayak paradise. Small boats are limited to electric trolling motors only, so you can fish without dodging jet skis and recreational boaters here. The reservoir has both largemouth and smallmouth bass, as well as walleye. I had success working ledges and drop offs with finesse baits, jigs and carolina rigs. Bass were plentiful in 12 to 25 feet of water, focusds on the downward edge of ledges and drop offs. If you can find ledges near submerged vegetation, you are in for a fun day of fishing. For the shallow fisherman, I was able to catch bass up against the reeds and lay downs using slow-falling, weedless wacky rigged senkos.

Lake St. Francis (NY)
Overcast and rainy day today. 13°C outside temperature and 64°F water temperature with low winds. We fished all day on deeper structure near to deep ledges (25-35fow). We were drifting with Carolina rigs, along rocky structure, with the current. Didn't get that many bites, but the ones we got were quality smallmouths!
