Brian Coburn

Perry Lake (KS)

Brian Coburn reported catching Crappie using the Vertical Jigging Deep (20'+) technique and Bobby Garland Baby Shad Swim'r on Perry Lake. Additional comments from this report: "We went out to Lake Perry in Kansas by Topeka. Thought with the nights starting to cool down we might hit some crappie. Well, we found the water temperature still in the low 80's and the brush piles vacant of fish. So we switched up our plan and started following the banks thinking they might be hanging around the drop offs with the water still warm. Well, that didn't work either. Next we hung off shore and cast to the shoreline. To our surprise, we started catching fish. Sorry to say, most of the crappie were less than 10" but the bass and catfish that we caught between the crappie kept up the level of fun we were looking for. Hoping some more cool nights keep coming our way and drop the water temperature and kick up the crappie activity in the next few weeks. Good luck all and keep your line wet."

BFishN Tackle AuthentX Ringworm - EOL

$3.99

Reported by
Davis's Guide Service

Pool 4 - Redwing Dam (WI)

Davis's Guide Service reported catching Walleye using the Vertical Jigging Deep (20'+) technique and BFishN Tackle AuthentX Ringworm - EOL on Pool 4 - Redwing Dam. Additional comments from this report: "To start the day off we focused on the stretch of the river where it opens up into Lake Pepin, This turned out to be the wrong decision. We found one area with some life in it, but other than that we saw nothing on sonar. We worked our way upriver and started running into fish around Redwing. Mainly seemed to be sauger with a few smaller walleyes mixed in. The fish seemed to be hanging out in a wide range of depths from 30-15ft on the more gradual drop-offs. We were using Jigs and Plastics as well as Blade Baits slowly drifting downstream with the current trying to keep our speed around .3-.5 mph. Although we didn't catch any big fish we heard from several others that some walleyes around the 8lb range were caught up close to the dam earlier in the morning. I suspect with some warm weather since I was out that the bite has gotten better. Good luck fishing! https://www.davissguideservice.com/ "
