Water Temperature

Walleyes and Saugers are still biting below the dam. The dam was shut down so the current was slow. At sunrise Saugers were found in 14-16 feet below the dam and then out to 20-23 feet. Fishing slowed down after 9:00 but would still bite on the jig and fathead.

Humps
Walleye were on mud humps. Caught them on tipups as well as jigging spoons. Fish were finnicky and really had to finesse them while jigging in order to get them to bite. Definitely a hard bite window.

Walleyes were on structure. Tipping anything with a minnow was key. We also placed tip ups off structure in order to get cruising walleyes to bite. Crappies and walleyes were mixed together.

There is not a lot of ice left on the Bay and what’s left is blowing around a lot. Fish have moved pretty shallow and are pretty hungry on the right days. They ate the rippin rap well before the sunrise and then the tingler spoon was the ticket when the sun came up. Take advantage of lowlight! Keep changing cadence to find what they want.

18-22 ft seemed to be the best. Get just outside the current and tip the Rapala jigging rap with a head of a fathead. Had to move a couple times to find them. We also used tip ups with shiners and they produced a couple as well.

Find breaks leading to deep water. Capitalize on the low light windows. Figure out the mood of the fish for how aggressive you want to work your baits. I start shallower and move deeper until I start seeing fish

Hiked and drilled a half mile in either direction and jigged multiple spots along the channel and in some coves/points. No fish, only used a vexilar fl28 and a marcum recon camera. Used medium shiners, walleye fatheads, waxies Incase pan fish were in the area.
