The bass wanted that black bait. I would go around hitting the docks and they were hungry. The bass are transitioning into the fall feeding pattern

The water was muddy, and the wind was gusting. Take your time and fish methodically and slowly. The bass were not aggressive, and you had to get the jig in front of their face. The ones we caught were pale and cold.
