Spent this Saturday at Buckeye. Faced a very tough bite however was able to find success in a Vision 110 and in a drop shot with a roboworm dipped in chartreuse dye. I was able to get the most bites using both of these techniques on main lake points. As the day went on and the sun seated down on the rocks, I imagined the fish may push up on rock walls to try and warm up, and I was correct. I was throwing a rapala DT-6 parallel to these rock walls and was able to find my biggest fish of the day doing this. I faced very murky water conditions so I made sure to throw very bright and attracting baits.

The water was muddy, and the wind was gusting. Take your time and fish methodically and slowly. The bass were not aggressive, and you had to get the jig in front of their face. The ones we caught were pale and cold.

This was the OSU Charity tournament. The water temps were low, and you had to work for the fish. We threw the Zman TRD Football heads with the black and blue tickler as well as cut down finesse worms. The bass were all through the docks and tight to rocks or cover.

The water temps are rising very quickly here in Ohio. We have had many 90* days. The bass are very lethargic and you have to put the bait in front of them. Having good success using jigs around the docks as well as any structure you can find.

Fished a benefit open for The Ohio State Bass Fishing team on Buckeye lake this past Saturday. Water was stained and warm. 63 at take off 68 at weigh in. Sunny and 57 at take off, pushing 80 at weigh-in. Managed 3 keepers for 4.19lbs. They hit jackhammers and spinner baits for us early on rock around docks in canals. 1st place was 15 and some change, 2nd-5th we’re all between 10-11 lbs. Apparently we missed the bite somewhere, lol. Still had fun day on water for a good cause.

The Saugeye were stacked up in the canals. The wanted something small and black. The z-man TRD in black and blue was the ticket. To get through the rocks better, use the TRD football heads. Toss up close to the bank and drag it back. Make sure you keep contact with the bottom and hold on

Made a weekend trip to see family, and stopped and did a little shore fishing on the way. Fished rocks from shore at the state park, just outside of Millersport. Caught 5 decent Channel cats and had a few really nice hits that were missed.
