Fish were holding on the ledges at about 10 feet. They were not holding on cover, they were suspended just off the bottom chasing alewife. The Krej was the bait of the day.

Picked up 5 bass over 4lbs including one over 7lbs on the kicker double colorado spinnerbait. Water visiblity was about one inch and this brought on the strikes. Fishing in the wind blown coves around any blown down brush or trees held bass. Slow rolling was the key to getting a strike with love visiblity. Kept those blades thumpin and pulled some nice ones in the boat.

Caught many bass on a Jerk Bait, primarily the Stunna 112 in Stunna Shad color but also the Strike King KVD 300. The bass were suspended around bait fish. The key was to find the bait fish and fish the Jerk bait around the bait fish to pick up the bass. Had one bass over 5lbs most were in the two to three pound range.

Picking up bass on the Stuna Jerkbait. Bass were suspended at around 7-8 below the schools of shad. If you find the shad I would pick up bass under the shad school. I would get aggressive bites when I ripped the bait through the water. They were not hitting the bait on the pause.

Had a big warm up in VA, pushed the big bass into the shallow waters. Caught over 40 Bass on the Booyah spinnerbait in 2-4feet of water around submerged stumps and brush. Biggest bass came in at 7lbs. Most bass were in the 3lb range. Slow rolling the spinnerbait seemed to be about the best technique going. The deeper bass were not committing to other typical winter baits.

Kerr lake water temp was any where from 45-49.8 as a high. The fish were off main lake points, transitions, and bluffs. Actually had a really solid day out there weighing in just over 14lbs of fish in only 3 hours. The bass were suspended in 8-25 feet of water, but were usually near or inside big balls of bait. The spotted bass were in 6-8ft of water behind balls of bait. We actually had the pleasure of watching schools of bass push bait balls into the back of coves and see top water bites late into the winter season. With that being said majority of the fish were caught on an A rig, but some did come off a jerk bait and one off a drop shot. Despite cold water the fish were super aggressive with the first fish of the day biting right at the boat. Overall these fish do not seem to be slowing up just because of colder water. They may take a little longer to find, but if you find them you'll catch plenty!

Fish were located in the middle of creeks in brush piles just off the steeper banks in about 8 ft of water. The slower the presentation the better.

Fish were holding tight to cover. Water was dirty throughout the river. Had to fish slow in order to get them to bite.

The bass seemed to be all over the place in the water column. We caught some bass in 5-7ft of water and some 15-17ft of water. The bass that came out of the 15-17ft of water shot up the get the jerkbait. They were eating it head first no short strikes. Majority of the bass came off of mid lake points but we had a few come off the north side riprap. For working the jerkbait I would start with either one or two pops of the rod then pause for roughly two seconds before I did one or two pops again. They usually hit it after the pause, but I had a few the biggest of the day hit it during the twitching of the rod. Leaving it in the strike zone for as long as possibly really allowed me to capitalize on the bass being aggressive especially in the deeper water where they swam up to get my jerkbait.
