Got on a few but not having any practice before the tournament! Just couldn’t get a pattern going! Caught a few out on Main Lake Rive Channels! And something I did catch pretty good on was with live scoop! Find your pocket you like and look for a lil draw in it anywhere and I we found fish in about ever lil draw like that we could find! Had 10 pounds in five small fish!

Water was decently clear and fish were on long points and chasing bait. Most reaction baits could catch them, but a crankbait and umbrella rig seemed to work the best on cold days. Best way to fish the crankbait was to reel really fast and then pausing 3-4 times per cast. Fish seemed to be slapping at the crankbait and having upgraded treble hooks made a real difference.

Fished event three of the Choo-Choo division of the MLF BFLs on Wheeler lake. Was able to finish 17th as a co-angler with a 9' 13 " bag. Caught all my keepers working current seems in 8-10 feet of water. Water temp was 56 degree and we has post front conditions. Fish just did not seem to react to moving baits today even thought we had a nice breeze.

My wife said she wanted to go fishing, so we took the afternoon off and put in at Ditto Landing. The wind was blowing pretty well, so I used an app to find bluffs out of the wind. We fished a bluff that I knew would be good this time of year because the smallies like to spawn on the bluff end. Sure enough, we caught them there dragging a shakeyhead probe until the water got muddy. We also went into the lighthouse bay and caught a few spots and a 3 lb largemouth on the shakeyhead as well. A real good 3 hours with one of my favorite fishing partners.
