Water temps between 40-42 degrees. Fish are hanging out in about 5 feet of water. Very slow Ned rig presentation is creating quality bites.

The lake is currently in post spawn transition as the water temps are already in the mid to upper 60s. The larger fish seem to be targeting spawning bluegills on shallow spawning flats. Look for large openings in the grass mats and pick these apart using a weightless wacky-rigged senko or frog. The fish are cruising the thick weed edges so make sure to work your bait parallel to the grass edge or on the surface right inside of the grass edge. Make multiple casts to the same area. Stealth is KEY! If these fish see you, they will not bite. If you do spook them, back off and let them rest for 10-15 minutes before working the spot again. Repeat this pattern around the entire lake. Some stragglers are on beds, but this I would not recommend spending any time trying to bed fish as the majority of the fish are transitioning into summer patterns.
