It's September and the Trego smallmouth are getting hungry! Smallies on this lake relate heavily to grass. There's very little rock on this lake so Grass and submerged trees are things to look for to find fish. Dragging a 1/2oz football jig with a finesse craw trailer got lots of action. This lake has LOTS of dead water, so idling and looking for spots that have any combination of Grass, sand, dropoffs and wood will be great areas to drag. The bigger smallies really like grass on this lake and can be caught very close to weed edges.
