Went out fishing this morning before the rain hit....didn't make it long before I got wet but caught 2 nice smallmouth on a Riot Baits Revolt 426 in Seibold Red, along a bluff wall. Boat was sitting in about 15 to 20 feet casting parallel to the bank. Most of the bait I saw was about 6 to 10ft down. The Revolt dives to about 6ft on a good long cast. Since there were trees and other rocks near the bank this was perfect for deflecting off the cover. Caught 2 smallmouth one about 1.4lbs and another 2.82lbs about 10min apart. After the rain came that was all for the next few hours before I decided to call it. Not bad in the short window I had. I'll take that any day!

Bank beating looking for the warmest water. Using more subtle crankbaits as the temps are still cool.

Using the Riot Baits Raptor Lipless Crankbait, in Siebold Red, I was throwing along rip-rap banks and cuts off the main lake that were windblown with rock along the banks and laydowns. The fish caught were in 6-10 feet of water. Many places had plenty of bait deep. Casting the Raptor along the rock banks and parallel to the bank in front of laydowns. Caught a couple fish, this way, boat control was tough due to wind. Overall felt that this pattern could have been repeated and more fish could have been found throughout the day.
