We caught our fish early flipping Texas rigged senko style worms and swimming speed worms into/through the lily pads and around docks. In the afternoon we caught fish on shell beds on the main channel on jigs & Carolina rigged worms.

Started the morning fishing a small creek on the St. Johns River with a Spro Bronzeye Poppin Frog 60 on 60 pound Sunline X-Plasma Asegai paired with a Denali AttaX 7' 4" heavy power fast action rod with a Quantum Smoke S3 8.1:1 reel. Caught two fish early with the falling tide and glass like conditions and once the current stopped, I switched a more subtle presentation, a wacky rig. My setup was a #1 VMC Weedless Finesse Neko Hook paired with a Gary Yamamoto 5" Black and Blue Senko on 15 pound Sunline X-Plasma Asegai Braid with a 10 pound Sunline FC Sniper leader on a Denali Lithium medium heavy power moderate fast action rod with a Quantum Smoke S3 6.1:1 gear ratio spinning reel. Caught the majority of my fish on the wacky rig when the tide was low and the current was lacking. Most of the fish I caught were caught near matts of dollar pad and lilipads located near docks.

Lily Pads
There were a couple patterns at the St. John's River but the predominant pattern in the Lilipads was flipping a stick bait at spawning fish. Because there's no grass in Lake George anymore Lilipads have turned into the dominant form of vegetation.

River Channels
With the consistent weather recently, the big females are pushing into the canals. Spent the day flipping a texas rigged Missile Baits D Bomb. Key is to slow down and anticipate where you think the fish are bedded because often times I couldn't see the fish. I would flip to where I thought the fish were bedded. Another key, use a smaller weight than you normally would to create less of a disturbance in the water.

I was blind fishing spawners on lilypad stems in canals along sea walls. I would pitch to small patches of pads with a Man Bang Sticks. Not a lot of bites but the right ones.

Utilizing my forward facing sonar I targeted fish around submergent vegetation with a jerkbait. I would follow up with a wacky rigged Zoom worm when the fish wouldn't commit to the jerkbait.
