Shawano lake can produce some big bluegills, perch, and crappie once you find the submerged green vegetation, the weeds have to be alive otherwise the fish won't be there for you to catch, a small tungsten jig tipped with waxie does the trick everytime!

Fish were very spread out on the lake depending on species. Perch were caught in about 4-5 feet of water in the woods, bluegills in 12, and crappies in the basins. Took a lot of weeding through smaller fish in order to get the bigger ones to commit. Fish were keyed in on smaller 4mm tungstens and 1/32 oz jigging spoons.

I got out on Shawano lake for a little bit this past weekend, and I was able to catch a couple bass and pike after doing some searching. The lake is turned over and most of the summer vegetation is dead and brown. I fished some dead reed patches and caught a couple small fish, but it was pretty slow. I cruised to the back of a pocket near a marina to shallower area with warmer water (1-3ft), and found some remaining grass that wasn't completely dead. In this same area, some of the dead weeds had formed small isolated this mat areas. I used a frog near these areas and caught some good ones. I also caught come pike on a spook in the same area.
