Bass were hitting jigs on the fall or first hop in the deeper weeds, 16-20' deep. They left it alone if it was just dragged and preferred trailers with plenty of movement. They wanted green pumpkin or brown for color but didn't touch colors like magic craw swirl or pb & j. Deep cranks got a couple big bites as well.

Took the kayak out on Sandy. Sunny afternoon in late July with a light breeze and pontoons from lake home owners were everywhere. There were quite a few bass up real shallow chasing sunfish. Mostly small bass with a couple big ones on the west end of the lake. A wacky rigged senko worked the best. It made a big difference to skip it up under docks... shade from lily pads or weed clumps also held fish. don't be afraid to throw the wacky rig with all the vegetation. Just be patient when the bass bury themselves in it and don't pull on them too hard. I also found a good school on the southeast (windblown) side of the main basin in 13-15' as well. They were on a pile of baitfish and the senko did the best here as well. Several other baits got multiple bites but the 5" senko was what the bass really wanted today.
