        Rock Pile

With Ice out fast approaching, don't forget to head out to Lake Erie with the Heavy Metal aka Blade Baits. These are often forgotten in the early months after we've all been cooped up and watching the Elites or ZAFS and we all want to Power Fish. Subtle techniques in the 20' range are going to be killer early. Mix in some soft plastics with your fishing partner and you'll have a killer combo.

I’ve been catching decent size bass using a drop shot set up with a half once weight and these Xzone bass candy regularly in heavy fished areas

        Submerged Vegetation

This report is primarily for East Harbor, but also could apply for middle harbor as well. Bass are very active along edges of submerged vegetation in 5 to 12 feet of water, as well as the current edges of deeper channels. I caught bass using both finesse and power fishing methods in East Harbor. I had good success along the edges of the submerged weed lines with the ned rig as well as chatterbaits. In deeper channels I was able to target bass running chatterbaits along the edges of drop offs.
