It took short jerks and medium pauses to get bit. Even then the bites were on the pause and were undetectable, it wasn't untill you jerked again that you knew there was a fish.

Females are prowling for spawning locations and are rather unresponsive. Dropping baits on their heads got no reaction. Eventually found a pattern of quick jerks over darker spots of water with low visibility in the 10-15' depth range. Were able to get 5 keepers and several dinks. Jerkbaits were king, but pulled one on dropshot.
