Caught most of my fish on a jig out on the weed edge in 12 to 16 feet of water with a couple of fish up shallow in the reeds.

Throwing squarebills over the flats where the vegetation is just starting to come up is key. 4-6 feet of water was the target zone for numbers and the biggest fish were slid out a touch deeper. Mix in a swim jig if you get up shallower than that.
