I recently completed in a kayak tournament on the chain and managed a 3rd place finish on Long Lake. I caught all of my fish working a frog over open water above isolated grass clumps near reed beds. The fish appeared to be keying in on spawning bluegills. The fish would not react well to bottom-oriented baits (jigs/texas rig). So, I transitioned to pushing and walking a frog over open water in 5-8 FOW and immediately noticed a difference in the amount of bites and how they were reacting to the bait. The Live Target Frog is an excellent all-around frog that is easy to work (walk and push) and has strong sharp hooks that will usually pin them every bite. Definitely my go-to frog when I need to put fish in the boat.
