Throwing a mix of shad imitations on Smith lake in the fall will always produce some bites as the water temps continue to fall.. However fish have been especially keyed in on shallow water jerk baits in the recent weeks. Try throwing the Berkley Stunna over shallow rocks and shallow water docks. There is also an abundance of fish on deep main lake points. Try dragging a jig and Shakey head on these points when the shallow bite slows.

We finished up a tournament on Smith Lake a few weeks back where we found success on a jerkbait and shakeyhead. We threw the new Berkley "Stunna" on 10lb trilene flourocarbon. Making a long cast around 45 degree rock banks was key. the fish were suspended so chasing the wind to find active fish was the ticket for success.
