Waconia can be a bit hit or miss in the early and late Fall times. I have found some of the best strategies during these periods of the Fall is to flip the hard edge of the reed beds, or flip 1-2ft into the reeds and slowly pull/drag them out. Swimming stuff through the reeds or hopping it will not get you as many bites but can also be beneficial but not as recommended. I would also concentrate on flipping as much timber on the shore, especially if it is wedged up to rocks/boulders on the shoreline as well. Happy hunting!

The crappie bite on Lake Waconia so far this year has been pretty good at times. Crappies have been caught in 12'-15' ft of water usually on top of healthy weeds growing a few ft off the bottom. Usually will find crappies suspended and being a few feet up in the water collum.
