The fishing on lake Tarpon has been a roller coaster lately. Our water temps have gone from 75 early this month down to 60 - 63. The fish that were starting to spawn have pushed back a little. There are some bucks on the beds, but they aren't worth fishing for. The fish that pulled out are now milling around in the staging areas. You are not going to catch a bunch in one spot, but if you cover enough water you run into a pretty steady amount of them. For the most part the offshore bite has died, but there are still some quality fish out there if you're willing to work for them. Weights were really strong this past weekend with the top three boats all weighing more than 19lbs. Bug bass of the vent was a 7.7 and was caught punching.
