November 13–Despite the cold, I had to go try for some largies at the pond. I ended up nearly dead-sticking a micro jig with little drags to catch a couple of nice bass. The better one, about two pounds, is pictured. I targeted drop offs. What’s key is the trailer. I cut about the last two inches off of a finesse worm and used it as a trailer.

I’ve been catching a lot of bass on megabass poppers (pictured is the pop x) in bluegill patterns this spring. They seem to work best on overcast days or in the evening. I’ve caught the most bass with a pop and pause retrieve, but with the warmer weather walking it also works.
