With a sunny, warm afternoon upon us, we explored some shallow bays with laydowns and found a few very nice pre-spawn crappies and bluegills. Water warmed to 61 degrees along the northern shorelines of the bays. Slowly swimming the Lindner Panfish jig was the ticket. Tipping with a minnow or soft plastic wasn't necessary but may have led to a few additional bites.

The key for finding these fish was looking for the deeper banks with a mix of boulders and gravel that was windblown and with as little vegetation as possible.
