Find the large flats. This is where the Smallmouth spawn in about 6' to 8'. Throwing the jerkbait from a long distance produced large bites all day long. Some really big smallmouth bass in the lake. Clean up with Ned Rig and Dropshot.

Water temps were 61-63 degrees and some fish were on beds but some may have slid back out since air temps were in the 40s Saturday night. We threw Bladed jigs over vegetation and slowed down with wacky worms when we located fish. We let the worms soak and set the hook when we felt a little weight. Bites were very light. Looks for bays with vegetation and warmer water
