Fished a sandbar point 8 ft, next to old channel at 14 ft. Few flags one bite after 8 hours. Small front passed by during the first hour, most activity was just before the front. Sandbar point was next to a cove of early ice vegetation.

Fishing below lake Dubay for Northern Pike using ripping raps. Bouncing the Rapala off the bottom was effective in catching a 27'in, and 29'in Northern Pike. Many anglers were also fishing for walleye using live shinners and smaller finesse baits.

Can't go wrong with a good jerkbait this time of year! Look for water temps in the mid to high 40s, tie on a 110 and hold on. Vary your cadence on the retrieve, most likely longer pauses are the way to go.
