I fished the lake on March 14th for several hours with my dad and a good friend. The water temperature on the lake that day ranged from 58 to 62 degrees, and the water clarity was 6 inches of visibility or less pretty much everywhere on the lake. We had just had some rain a few days before, so the backs of the creeks were actually colder and muddier than the main lake on this day. It was sunny outside with a pretty steady north wind, with outside temperatures starting in the high 30's and low 40's in the morning and warming up to about 70 degrees at the end of the day. We spent the day fishing main lake points and the first thirds of major spawning creeks as this is where the warmest and cleanest water was. We would target all of the cover available in these areas, docks, grass, rocks, timber, boat ramps, etc. with a chatterbait, a jig, and a texas rig. The theme of the day was essentially just shallow junk fishing in less than 3 feet of water, but the key was having deeper water near the shallow areas you were fishing. The fish in the lake were in the late stages of prespawn and by now there are probably some spawning. Bonham is a great lake to fish, you don't catch a lot of numbers in my experience, but the quality is there and the fish are easy to catch once you find a pattern, as it generally works across the whole lake once you do find one. This day we caught them pretty good, as we caught around 8 total fish and our best 5 bites went for around 23 pounds, anchored by the 7 pounder I caught on the chatterbait pictured below. Now is a great time to be on Bonham, so get out there and rip some lips! Thank you all for reading my reports!

Texas rigged D bomb is also a great choice that will load the boat for you. Water is a little low so the usual targets for flipping are dry.
