Strong numbers and incredibly large sizes this year on both males and females. Despite the thickness of the fish, their bellies are empty. So the aggressive strikes are more to kill the 'bait' rather than to eat it. This means you will lose some because of the light hook-set; which is the typical spring pattern. Bonehead 3" Bluegrass with Bonehead Black 1/8 ounce heads are the ticket right now. However, other colors are working to a lesser degree.
