The bass fishing outing turned into a fun pike fishing day. Big pike were staged on the offshore humps and points across the lake, feasting on bluegills. Ripping the swimbaits through the weed clumps would cause a reaction bite. We landed multiple pike over 5 pounds and one that broke us off boatside that was pushing 10. This bite should continue as long as bluegills remain in the weeds.
