Found a few nice fish around the lake fishing ned rigs and crankbaits. I fished neds when the water was calm and there was no wind. I focused on shade lines, brush piles, and rock. When the wind would pick up, I switched to cranking. Bouncing a small crankbait off of rock, brush, or trees was a good way to trigger fish. In the fall, keep an eye out for bluegill pushed up against the shore and focus on structure or depth in those areas.

Fall transition is in full swing. Largemouth are feeding aggressively in shallow cover. The reservoir is fairly small but the water was high on our last visit. There is obvious "structure" that tends to hold fish. Flooded brush, the rip rap by the dam, small rocky points, etc. Tried a few different options but crankbaits got the fish going. Something in the 1-6' range is great. Squarebills are excellent options to reduce hang ups. Something that deflects off of wood and rock is a good option. I had one explode on the bait and two others where the line got heavy before they realized they were hooked.
