The East Arm of Hubbard tends to hold the best concentration of a mix of bedding smallmouth and prespawn/spawning areas for fish to set up. With a large flat on the northern section of the east arm, the fish tend to setup on isolated rock/perch grass areas and dark spots on the bottom. Make the longest possible cast with your hair jig and slowly retrieve it mid-column, targeting dark spots or bottom composition changes.
