Look for inside weedlines with green vegetation this time of year. I throw a heavier bladed jig in the Fall with a bulkier trailer. 30 to 40 pound braid on a St Croix Legend Tournament Warhorse rod.

a 4.9 pound small mouth bass 20 1/2 inches long caught on a z-man green Ned head, and a TRD green pumpkin worm. this small mouth bass was caught under a bridge along side the bridge pillars such an exciting catch !

I tried to pattern smallies on Horseshoe lake but didn't have much time to fish so I changed my strategy to largemouth. I saw bait fish suspending over weed flats adjacent to breaks so I grabbed a 6th Sense Catwalk in a bluegill color and caught several largemouth in a short time
