Fish are in all stages of the spawn. We were targeting post spawn fish that had already moved out to the ledges. Used the Aqua Vu to find schools with bigger fish in them. Lots of fish to be caught up shallow with a wacky worm, most were in the 2-3lb range though. We ended up sitting on one school all day and weighed in 21lbs 3oz which put us in 6th place out of 250 boats.

Wow my mapping came in huge this day just used regular basic mapping nothing crazy. I was finding 10ft flats were there was hard bottom and minor eel grass or any grass of sorts nothing in particular for this method. I would bomb out my 110 jr as it was the same size as the shad. I use straight 6lb fluro as it allows the bait to look much more real in the water. TRY IT! I was a big hater but till I tried I didn't nearly catch as much till now ! I would recommend using a spinning set up as it allows you to have much more cast-ability as well as much better drag were fish can't come off on the side of the boat. It also naturally keeps your hands were they should be in order to have a much better retrieve ! Fish were ambushing out the weeds and the clumps, when the lipless bite slowed down maybe because they see it so much the 110jr was perfect. I would also recommend reeling it it straight with slight rod twitches to enhance your presentation !

Weather was variable throughout the day with mid 60 degree water temps. Found a pattern on the southern end of the lake pitching a drop shot on coontail edges in 9-16ftow. If bluegills were around on these edges the bigger largemouth were much more prevalent. Ehlers edge was the best color robo used, the darker colors were definitely working better.
