Throwing an A-Rig on points/flat bank that ran right into a Channel Swing was about the only way to get bit down on Grand this early PreSpawn Time.

March 12th - 17th: Here are my takeaways after the fishing the Toyota Series on Grand Lake. My practice was very solid as I caught quality fish on a few particular baits. These baits included a Berkley Stunna Jerkbait, a 1oz Single Colorado Blade spinnerbait, and Alabama Rig. I listed the Storm Arashi Glide Bait as the hot bait because once I caught a fish in an area in practice I did not want to hook too many due to how tough it was. I through this big glide around purely because of its draw power. Multiple times big bass followed it up to the boat or hit it (had rubber hook protectors on). I was concentrating on brush piles and stumps in very clear water. Biggest bass of the week for me was 5.14 lbs. Depth range was 3 - 15 ft. The tournament did not go as well as prefishing and I did not catch a single keeper. Quickly falling water in the morning repositioned the fish, and by the time I located them the current was nonexistent and the fish were very lethargic and lock jaw. Day two after the heavy rainfall that area rose over 2 foot but was blown out with muddy water. My co and I got on a pattern with A Rigs in Honey Creek but the bites were still very lethargic and hard earned. Wind blown points and 45 degree angle banks with an A Rig produced the most bites.

Tough day of fishing but was able to get a couple on a small swimbait.
