Back out again on Fish Lake to test my new Handing rod and reel out to see how it compares to my Trika 6X. Caught 8 total, 3 dinks, a 2.39lbs, 5.37lbs, biggest and pictured and 3 pound and a half to pound and 3/4. Got the 2.39 on Yum swim n Dinger watermelon pearl and the others on Yum Thumpin Dinger in watermelon pearl. Wood again a factor in the 2nd cove back, but today they wanted something with a tail and movement to it. Wouldn't hit a regular Dinger or a Strike King Ocho. Moved out of the cove and went straight across the lake and started fishing along the reeds and docks moving back to the right towards the boat ramp and got 4 more along the shore. Bites were a bit stronger than last week and the new rod and reel did a great job. Feel was extremely close to the Trika 6X but the cost of both rod and reel was half of the cost of just the Trika rod. Very pleased with the Handing rod, 7'3 medium heavy, fast action along with their reel.

Only had a couple hours to fish, so back to Fish Lake again today. Started in the second cove throwing the Gambler worm around the reeds, lily pads and docks and caught 3, one dink and the others over 2lbs., including the biggest at 2.54lbs pictured. Missed a few but the bites were harder than yesterday. Quickly realized that wood was the pattern today as every bite was next to a tree, under a dock or very close to a dock. Missed the first one as I came into the cove up close to the trees on the left, then got a couple before I got past the second dock on the left, nothing the rest of the way in until I got all the way to the back and was throwing up under or right at the edge of the wooden docks along the back edge of the cove. Missed a bunch and lost the burner worm so I switched to a Strike King Ocho worm in watermelon and red flake. Missed a few more but got plenty of bites as long as I was close to wood. Went around the cove and then went over to the other cove and fished it quickly as I only had about 45 minutes before I had to go. Caught 2, one dink and the other was 2.44lbs. Again wood was the key and I got them on the Strike King Ocho worm.

Started off in the first cove on the left with the Gambler Burner in Gold Rush and got 3, 2.66lbs and 2 pound and a half or so. Missed a couple and had one pull drag the whole time and got off, never saw it but guess it to be 6+lbs. Moved over to the other cove and got more, 3.74lbs, pictured, and 2.44lbs, both on the Zoom Craw worm. Missed one and had one break my line.
