Sitting in 10 feet of water and throwing up towards the bank, the fish were hitting it on the first drop off. Water had been warmer and spawning was starting, the cold front came through and it seems like they backed out to the first drop and that's where I was getting them. Pictured is a 4.05 lbs. I caught a couple of smaller ones and had one break my line. Bites were plentiful some very subtle and others just about yanked the rod out of my hands. Cool morning, 48 when I arrived, but warmed into the 60's by 10.

Caught 11 today from .79lbs up to 4.18lbs, pictured. 3 were over 3lbs. , 3 over 2lbs and 3 over a pound. All were caught on a Black worm with Blue flakes and a Blue curl tail. Don't know the brand as I got them from a fellow fisherman that found them in the trash at a car wash, but they weren't trash they worked great.

Started off in the first cove and got 6 while in there. First one was about 1.09lbs caught in the narrow stretch coming in, then started along the reeds on the right and picked up 2 real quick on the point, 2.59lbs and 2.33lbs. Worked my way around and got the biggest one on the Berkley, pictured 5.09lbs. Others were caught on the Yum Swim n Dinger and the Strike king ocho. Moved down to the other cove and got a couple more, pound to pound and a half. Went across the lake and started fishing back up the shore line and got the others. They were all caught on a Babybass color worm.

Got out this morning and put 4 in the boat, lost 3 on the way to the boat and missed quite a few. Biggest one, pictured, was 4.3lbs. All were caught on the Gambler worm thrown up into shallow water near reeds, lily pads and submerged weeds. Started out in the back cove fishing along the docks, seawall, trees and any piece of wood I could see. Missed 4 in there before moving across the lake and fishing along the shore line, reeds, docks, lily pads and grass. Only caught em on the Gambler worm, they hit a Yum Swim n Dinger in Watermelon pearl but didn't get one hooked up.

Back out again on Fish Lake to test my new Handing rod and reel out to see how it compares to my Trika 6X. Caught 8 total, 3 dinks, a 2.39lbs, 5.37lbs, biggest and pictured and 3 pound and a half to pound and 3/4. Got the 2.39 on Yum swim n Dinger watermelon pearl and the others on Yum Thumpin Dinger in watermelon pearl. Wood again a factor in the 2nd cove back, but today they wanted something with a tail and movement to it. Wouldn't hit a regular Dinger or a Strike King Ocho. Moved out of the cove and went straight across the lake and started fishing along the reeds and docks moving back to the right towards the boat ramp and got 4 more along the shore. Bites were a bit stronger than last week and the new rod and reel did a great job. Feel was extremely close to the Trika 6X but the cost of both rod and reel was half of the cost of just the Trika rod. Very pleased with the Handing rod, 7'3 medium heavy, fast action along with their reel.
