Fish were active and cruising shallow flats in about 2ft of water during the lowlight hours of the evening. Water temp was 68 up shallow and still 66 in deeper water. The topwater bite was on. Casting in towards shore and retrieving straight away was best. Once the sun was below the horizon, the bite slowed down quite a bit.

Water temp was around 74 degrees and stained green from algae. Bluegills seem to have been turned off by an thunderstorm earlier in the morning and seem scattered in less than 10 feet of water. You would catch one or two in a spot and then have to move to find more. Many of the ones we caught seemed beat up like they were spawning. The size of bluegills was also varied. We caught them on a small hook with a chunk of worm. We did not try targeting any on beds.
