Many fish to be caught on Cross, but a person can be easily distracted by fish in the 1.5 to 2 lb range. Fished weedlines off of submerged humps and steeper breaks along weed flats. Better fish were caught just inside the weedline on jigs, but the majority of fish were caught outside the weed edge on jig worms and ned rigs in the 14 to 18 ft range.

Fall fishing is in full swing. Smallies are grouped up on offshore rock humps in 20-35 feet of water. If you have them use them because the max scent flatworm is still the go-to bait. Fish are aggressive so no need to let it soak. Make as many casts as possible covering a ton of water to find the active groups. Once you find them, it will be lights out. Switch over to a WOO! tungsten 1/4 oz ned head if the bites get slow, and you should fire the school back up.
