Water temps approaching 50 degree the smallies are starting to move closer to shore. Fish could be found in 12'-8' of water in sand rock transitions with stumps in the area. targeting stumps would almost always guarantee a bite. Slow dragging hair jigs picked off the roamers in the flats and transitions while finesse jigs and ned rigs were more effective near stumps. Color of the hair jig didn't make a difference. Using lighter braided line resulted in longer casts to cover more water and helped keep the boat away from scaring the fish. 360 imaging played a large role in making accurate casts on the transitions and dropping baits on stumps. Fish caught varied from 1lb-3lbs but if you want to catch a ton of bass this is the place to do it.
