My friend has always wanted to catch a Musky. I said let's meet at Caesars Creek. We launched the boat and headed over to the 73 Bridge. With the falling temperatures, I was hoping for an enjoyable day. It didn't take long and casting the rocks under the bridge, my friend missed something. I wasn't sure what it was. I told him to cast back into the same spot. Upon the second turn of the handle, I watched the Muskie crush his spinnerbait. You could see the gills flare and the mouth open. The fight was on. He did an excellent job of keeping tension on the fish. After about a 10-minute battle, I was able to net his first Muskie. It's almost 45". It was a genuinely nice fish and thick. Due to the lengthy battle, we weren't going to hassle with weighing the fish. A quick picture and then we spent another 15 minutes reviving the fish.
