Went out for a few hours before the game. Managed three over 13” and a handful of smaller ones. The fish were pretty tight jawed and the wind made it hard to get the jigs to the 25’ the crappie were at. The Bobby Garland baits got it done again. I rig two on a line and usually put a larger size on the bottom hook. I use the 1.5, 2, and 2.25 depending on the day. Today the bigger fish hit the 2.25. I caught them either penduluming the bait passed timber or dropping it right in the school and dancing the rod tip. The fish were mostly deep in 25-30’ in 40’+ of water. The bait fuel seems to attract a few more bites but that is really hard to know if it’s working or not.

I've had real good luck using a gold lipless crank bait for the toothy species. For walleye on Brookville Lake, I found success in deep water near the dam. Casting off the bank as far as I can. Let it sink and moderately quick and consistent retrieve.
