Big spots have moved to run with the strippers in water between 40-50 feet deep, suspended at about 30 feet. Definitely a hard bite to find but where you can find a school of striped the spots are not far behind.

Focus on river channels that have a good amount of chunk rock. You can keep about 25’-30’ off the bank or you can work the bank parallel. Key to working the small swimbait is making sure that it ticks the rocks on the bottom. Few other baits that you can use to catch them right now is a jig, shaky head as well as a Lip Thrashin Lures “lil nasty” tailspin. The tailspin can be worked around dock slips or deeper water areas where the bait is roaming. This has been a great bait for this time of year at multiple lakes. Water clarity has been around 3’-4’ in the main lake area and with recent rain the creeks have been a little bit stained.
