Brandon Gesch
Somers Lake (MN)
Brandon Gesch reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Worming) technique and Trokar TK110 EWG Worm Hook on Somers Lake. Additional comments from this report: "Crushed it today! Multiple bass in the 4lb range with a couple approaching 5lb. They were after the weightless Texas rigged senko (black/blue) straight to braid being that it's already thick vegetation out there. Caught them both up shallow and in about 6' of water on the edges of grass mats."

John Kerr
Lake Monona (WI)
John Kerr reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Worming) technique and Trokar TK110 EWG Worm Hook on Lake Monona. Additional comments from this report: "Fished the 2023 Badger State Kayak Championship on Saturday June 23. Figuring out the bite was a little challenging at first. Caught LM bass in the weeds on a frog and the zoom speed worm early in the day, but both were small. Then went to weed edges with a square bill in sexy shad colors and caught a few more. Then went right into the thick of the weeds with a Texas rigged zoom speed worm with 1/4 ounce tungsten weight, 15# fluorocarbon leader, 30# powerpro braid, on a Shimano curado K, omen black casting rod and started catching some quality LM. Give lake monona a try and go right into the weeds and pitch your worm around. You will not be disappointed. I did lose a few because I should have been using a MH or H action rod "

Cjw
Oxbow Park Lagoon (IN)
Cjw reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Worming) technique and Trokar TK110 EWG Worm Hook on Oxbow Park Lagoon. Additional comments from this report: "It was a sunny clear day on the water and this body of water I don't have much luck on. So I decided to try something I never tried before, and since the water is murky with low visibility, I tied on a zoom bubble gum trick worm to kind of stand out. I was using it like a floating worm over submerged vegetation and letting it sink weightless. Finally hooked up and pulled a decent largie out."

Katherine Field
Pool 8 Mississippi River (WI)
Katherine Field reported catching Smallmouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Worming) technique and Gamakatsu Superline EWG Hook on Pool 8 Mississippi River. Additional comments from this report: "Fished Pool 8 two weeks ago. The water is incredibly low right now and the current is slow. I found success here working points along current seams with texas rigged speedworms and small swimbaits. The pike are numerous so if you decide to try and do any topwater, consider a wire leader. Lost a ton of topwater lures to pike on this trip! "

Ken C reported catching Largemouth Bass using the Texas Rigs (Worming) technique and Gamakatsu Offset Shank EWG Hook on Lake Waconia. Additional comments from this report: "Had a good outing with 20+ bass. Key was skipping a senko far under docks. Generally everyone just tosses to the outside. I hit a few docks I seen people fish already but the key was skipping it way under the dock, and hold on! Most of the time they will hit it on the initial fall. In some cases, skipping under docks from different angles was also the key to get them to bite. I also had a good bite on a shallow crankbait. We all know Waconia has tons of grass, covering water was key until you got a bite. Was in the 10fow range with weeds being sparse and running the square bill through and ripping it through grass if needed also triggered bites. Of course the pikes got to the cranks but the colors I threw were producing sizes of all bass. Goodluck out there. It’s just gonna get better!"
