There is nothing quite like spring fishing in East Texas. I was finally able to sneak off to my favorite lake for a couple hours this past weekend and it did not disappoint. Focusing on banks with reeds that had wind blowing on them we were able to target feeding fish who were using the reeds to spawn. We caught them on a variety of lures including a topwater walking bait, rattle trap, but the most proficient was a vibrating jig. This pattern will stay strong as fishing to contribute to spawn and move into the post spawn right before they head offshore.
